The Mock Renaissance Tragedy
James Lewis Huss has written numerous dramas for the stage, most of which are a genre of his own invention: the Mock Renaissance Tragedy — a genre that includes six full-length plays composed entirely in blank verse, dissembled as the recently discovered lost plays of Renaissance-era authors. The plays explore social themes and controversies while exploiting the conventions of tragedy for comic effect.
